I’m Vanessa Gonzalez, a strategic storyteller, creative director, and visual artist moved by people, culture, and human connection.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, I grew up in Echo Park long before it became a buzzword. My background is layered and deeply personal. My father is Black, born in Alabama, and an aspiring filmmaker. My mother immigrated from Guatemala at seventeen, working as a domestic worker and raising me with unwavering strength and grit. From her, I learned resilience, determination, and the instinct to build something from the ground up.

I come from a first-generation Latino household which shaped by Catholic school uniforms, the MTV generation, Janet Jackson, and cumbias. Growing up mixed in a Latinx community came with its complexities—experiences that continue to shape how I see the world and the stories I’m drawn to tell.

Photography entered my life in my late twenties and quickly became more than a creative outlet. What began as photographing friends and family evolved into a deeper exploration of identity, storytelling, and connection—particularly through working with women.

I hold a Master of Communication Management from USC and have built my career across entertainment, advertising, marketing, public relations, and nonprofit communications. Along the way, I’ve led strategy, built brands, and co-founded creative ventures, all of which inform my work today as a strategic storyteller and founder of QNDM.

My work centers on translating vision into clarity—helping brands, organizations, and creatives tell stories that feel human, aligned, and impactful. QNDM represents my creative and professional worlds coming full circle, grounded in the belief that storytelling has the power to elevate communities and shape narratives.
